  1. 01

    Open the wind controls

Tap the map's weather and wind indicator to review the current source and forecast. Check the timestamp and the location the conditions describe.

  2. 02

Turn on the right wind pin

Use Wind on location pin for your actual position. Tap a saved pin and choose Wind at this pin for that setup. Each saved pin can be controlled separately; enabled choices are saved with your account.

  3. 03

Save preferred winds for a setup

On an eligible saved hunting setup, open Wind at this setup and Edit preferences. Save the wind directions you use there and wait for the pin to sync. Best upcoming wind matches compares the forecast at that pin's coordinates; times are local to the setup.

  4. 04

    Compare direction and visibility

Use the wind overlay appearance controls to keep imagery readable. A north wind comes from north and blows toward south. The direction shown is guidance for planning, not a measurement of scent at every tree.

  5. 05

    Try Wind movement in 3D

Open the 3D controls and enable Wind movement. Moving marks illustrate the latest available wind for the current map area. Reduced Motion displays still arrows. Calm, stale or unavailable conditions are shown in the layer status.

Enable Wind movement from the 3D view controls. The source direction is shown separately from the direction it blows toward.
  6. 06

    Read the moving overlay

Return to the map to compare the illustrated direction with your setup and approach. The effect is a map-area summary, not a simulation of exact airflow or scent around every obstacle.

Wind movement illustrates the map area’s latest available wind. Local ground conditions can differ from the forecast.Map attribution retained: Mapbox.
