Allowing enables these OpenAI-dependent features for this sign-in. You can optionally remember approval for your account on future sign-ins, until you turn it off or this disclosure changes. Declining leaves these actions off; the map and features that do not need this processing remain available.

Use your location dot and compass

Understand the difference between a live fix, phone heading and map follow.

  1. 01

    Allow precise location

    Tap the location control and allow location access for the app. Check that precise location is enabled in your device settings when you need a better fix.

    Wait for a fresh fix

    Read the location status and reported accuracy. A saved or stale fix is not proof of your current position. If the app is finding GPS, give it time with a clearer view of the sky.

    Browse without losing GPS

    Drag or zoom to inspect another area. Camera follow can pause while your location continues updating. Tap the location control again to return to your position.

    Understand the compass

    Enable Mini map compass in App Preferences if desired. It shows map north and can return the map to north-up. Phone-facing direction uses available heading permission; GPS course describes movement, not necessarily where the phone points.

Why is my location missing or not moving?

Check app permission, precise location, signal and the displayed fix time. Bring the app to the foreground and retry the location control. Browsers and device power settings may pause location updates; do not infer a current position from an old dot.
