Before signing in, permission covers only account-creation safety checks; the new account needs its own approval. Declining leaves these actions off; the map and features that do not need this processing remain available.

This does not enable optional photo AI memory or community learning. Those remain separate choices.

Make the app comfortable in the field

Choose appearance, measurement units, map direction and notification preferences.

  1. 01

    Choose your appearance

    Open App Preferences and use the available appearance controls for a readable light or dark view. Check the map and a sheet in your usual outdoor lighting.

    Adjust the app language and appearance. Online availability is separate from GPS location sharing.

    Set the measurement units

    Choose Imperial or Metric and the available preferred distance unit. Yards are useful for short hunting distances; review the displayed unit before comparing values.

  3. 03

    Adjust direction controls

    Turn Mini map compass on or off and review the direction appearance preferences. Map north, device heading and wind direction describe different things.

  4. 04

    Manage device and notification options

    Review available notification, device-security and offline-map settings. Native-only controls appear when the installed app supports them. Allow only the device permissions needed for the features you use.
